The pieces are written for a symphony orchestra, consisting of 2 flutes, oboe, cor anglais (English horn), 2 clarinets in Bb, bass clarinet (a tenor sax could be substituted for one, or a baritone sax but the parts would have to be transcribed), 2 bassoons, 4 French horns, 3 trumpets, 3 tenor trombones, 1 bass trombone (or tuba), harp (or piano, preferably electric with Fender Rhodes setting), timpani, percussion, 1st violins, 2nd violins, violas, cellos and basses. A full score is included. You may have to adjust the dynamics on the parts slightly. The music traces the evolution of a house from Medieval times to the present. Play in the order shown.. I wrote this suite after the pieces on page 2. I should add a warning. No-one will like these pieces. Classical music lovers will detest them because the harmonies are too advanced for their liking (most classical music lovers only like Baroque and Romantic era music.) Lovers of 20th and 21st century classical music will look down on this music as it is not as undecipherable or abstract as their favourite music. Jazz lovers will hate this suite because...it isn't jazz. Light music lovers will hate it because it is too discordant for them And pop music lovers will hate it because it is not danceable or as rhythmic as they like. I thought I'd better warn you. Drop me a line if you do like the music - you are in the minority.
